Choose trial quality over volume alone
Define who should receive the sample and what they should learn. A demonstration can make sense for a technical product, while a packaged sample may suit a shorter interaction. Set separate goals for samples distributed, meaningful conversations and offer responses.
Plan the inventory chain
Document quantities, delivery windows, replenishment, secure storage and end-of-day reconciliation. For food, beverages or regulated products, confirm the relevant health, handling, age and venue requirements with qualified parties. Do not launch on the assumption that a sealed product removes all obligations.
Coordinate with the retailer or venue
Confirm written approval, the exact footprint, operating times and who can resolve issues onsite. Map queues and replenishment so they do not block normal customer movement. Agree whether ambassadors can mention an offer, distribute a coupon or direct shoppers to a specific shelf.
Connect trial to the next purchase
Use a clear offer and a realistic measurement method, such as a retailer-approved redemption mechanism or campaign-specific destination. Do not treat every sample as a sale. Review responses alongside inventory records and feedback so the next wave can improve.
